Quality education depends not only on teachers and curriculum, but also on the environment in which students learn. Safe classrooms, access to technology, clean drinking water, proper seating, and sanitation facilities all play a vital role in shaping a child’s academic journey. Recognising this need, Drychem India Pvt. Ltd., through its CSR arm Walplast Welfare Foundation, has taken a significant step toward improving education infrastructure across India by strengthening facilities in more than 100 schools during FY 2025–2026.
The initiative spans key regions across Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh. These locations have been strategically selected in alignment with the company’s operational presence, allowing Drychem to build stronger relationships with communities while ensuring sustained engagement and long-term impact.
The programme focuses on improving the day-to-day learning experience for students studying in government schools, tribal schools, and rural institutions. Through this initiative, schools have received essential infrastructure such as computers, printers, classroom furniture including benches, desks and chairs, writing boards, school bags, water coolers, sanitation facilities, lighting systems, air coolers, and stationery supplies.
While these additions may seem basic, they address some of the most pressing challenges faced by schools in underserved areas. Comfortable seating improves concentration and classroom discipline. Clean drinking water and sanitation facilities support student health and regular attendance. Computers and printers help bridge the digital divide, giving students access to tools that are increasingly necessary in modern education.
The impact of such interventions extends beyond the classroom. Better learning spaces create a sense of dignity and motivation among students, while also helping teachers deliver lessons more effectively. In rural and tribal communities, these improvements can often be the difference between irregular attendance and sustained participation in school.
Speaking about the initiative, Kaushal Mehta, Managing Director at Drychem India Pvt Ltd said, “Education has always been central to our philosophy at Drychem, because we believe true nation-building begins in the classroom. Strengthening infrastructure across 100+ schools reflects our long-term commitment to creating equitable learning environments. Through focused, on-ground interventions, we aim to improve not just access to resources, but the overall quality of learning experiences for students across communities.”
What sets this initiative apart is its collaborative execution model. Drychem works closely with local authorities, school administrations, and community stakeholders to identify genuine needs and ensure effective implementation. This helps create solutions that are practical, relevant, and sustainable over time.
The company’s broader CSR journey also reflects a consistent focus on education and inclusion. Its earlier partnership with Project Nanhi Kali supported girls’ education, reinforcing Drychem’s commitment to equal learning opportunities.
As India continues to focus on educational progress, initiatives like these show how businesses can contribute meaningfully to nation-building. By investing in stronger school infrastructure today, Drychem India is helping build brighter futures for generations to come.
